Austria extends its leading position in organic farming
In 2007 the area under organic farming increased by 2.7 percent, so it covers 371,000 hectares now. In absolute figures this is a plus of 10,000 hectares of organic farmland compared to 2006 in Austria. EU Agriculture Ministers adopt new organic labelling legislation
After the adoption of the new Organic Regulation Agriculture Minister Pröll calls again for a clear Coexistence Directive of the Commission, because the protection of non-GM agriculture must not be undermined.
